Bespoke Computing Drives Smooth Handover for New Volvo Dealership
Bespoke Computing has steered a Shropshire car dealership on to the right track by providing a brand new communication infrastructure so the new venture could hit the ground running.
We installed a comprehensive IT and telephone system including a new server, internet and email at new workstations for Volvo Car UK’s first sponsored retailer when it opened its doors in Shrewsbury earlier this year.
Volvo Cars Shrewsbury took over the running from outgoing retailer Greenhous in Featherbed Lane in an orchestrated handover that saw the existing systems switched off as soon as the sale took place.
Bespoke Computing’s Business Development Manager Paul Cook said the firm managed a near seamless transition for the new dealership so it could be ready for business the following day.
He explained: “We pre-staged the entire set up required for Volvo Cars Shrewsbury in our office to ensure it could be quickly and easily transferred to and installed in the showroom as soon as the sale took place.
“When the deal was finalised mid afternoon, our team of engineers worked late into the night to ensure that implement the new communication system we had devised.
“From early the next morning Volvo Cars Shrewsbury was able to do business by phone and email and connect to the internet, meaning minimal downtime for the dealership and the staff.
“We are delighted we managed the installation with the minimum of disruption thanks to the level of pre-planning.”
Volvo Cars Shrewsbury Retailer Principal Chris Carr said: “Through the journey of purchasing the Volvo centre, Chris, Paul and the Bespoke Computing team have been nothing but incredible in their support of a new start up.

Paul and the Bespoke support team worked through the night on the day of purchase to ensure we opened for business at 8.30 am the next morning. Their subsequent aftercare and support has been extremely impressive and they have ultimately become part of the Volvo Cars Shrewsbury team.”
