Pound the Bounds in Rock

Pound the Bounds in Rock

Gearing up for the Long Mynd Hike in October our walkers are taking part in the annual Pound the Bounds in Rock, Worcestershire.

We definitely need to train hard for our 50 mile charity hike so this annual fundraiser organised for the Midlands Air Ambulance (one of our three great charities) is the perfect warm-up event to know our training plan up a gear.

We want to raise in excess of £1,000 to be split between the Midlands Air Ambulance, the Severn Hospice and Shropshire Mind – which is why we’re taking our training so seriously to help them as much as we can.

So on May the 5th we will be putting on our boots to take part in the Pound the Bounds in Rock walk, organised by the Rock Village Hall Committee in aid of the Midlands Air Ambulance.

The walk takes place across some of the most beautiful walking routes in Britain and although there is a choice of distances from just six miles though we are taking on their 25 mile walk.

Some of the terrain is apparently quite demanding and, depending on the weather, might be quite muddy but we’re keeping our fingers crossed for sunshine. Although October seems quite a long way in the distance, it will come round quickly and we want to know we’ve got a good few miles under our belts before we tackle the full 50 miles.

We will have 8,000 ft of climbing to do in less than 24 hours so it’s a big task but the work our three chosen charities do is so important.

Help us Support Three Great Causes…

The Midlands Air Ambulance costs £24 a minute to fly and its work is absolutely essential. It saves lives every day but the charity does not get any funding from the Government or the lottery.

Severn Hospice is an independent charity and supports people with end of life care while Shropshire Mind greatly supports people across the county affected by mental or emotional distress.

All three of these charities have helped friends and families of my staff and myself over the last year and we want to be able to say thank you.

While many imagine IT workers are slaves to their computers, it’s just not true. We love getting out and about in the countryside and if we can raise money to help important charities like these three then it’s even better.

We would be grateful for any sponsorship you can donate.  To sponsor us for the Pound the Bounds in Rock walk on May 5th or the Long Mynd Hike in October please visit our Just Giving page at http://www.justgiving.com/teams/bespoke-computing-2013/.
